Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy

Welcome

The Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (AREBT) was established in 1993 by a group of counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists who were training as Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) practitioners in the United Kingdom.

The Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy holds a register of accredited REBT practitioners who have undertaken a recognised in-depth training programme. The Register also includes members who are qualified in coaching and clinical supervision. Our members have to abide by our published Codes of Ethics and Practice. Accredited REBT practitioners can apply to the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy for Registration as Rational Emotive Behaviour Psychotherapists. The Association publishes a professional journal, The Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapist and also a newsletter.

Our member's interests are varied. Some are interested in REBT practice and research where as others have an interest in rational emotive behaviour training, coaching or hypnosis.

The Association is a Member Organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the leading body that represents psychotherapy in the UK.

This website has a useful Links page if you are looking for relevant professional bodies, training institutions and self-help organisations. If you have an interest in REBT, we invite you to join our free Online AREBT Forum and/or our Association.
