The Association is the Lead Association for Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy in the UK, working on practitioner's behalf to promote REBT's role as an affective talking therapy.
Albert Ellis the founder of REBT was an Honorary Fellow and Windy Dryden is our Honorary Patron.
There are four membership catogories namely
Appropriate membership forms are avalible on this website.
Only individuals who are qualified in and practice REBT can become full members and use the letters MAREBT after their names.
Full membership affords the opportunity to have your details placed on our AREBT Therapist List www.arebt.org
Full members with appropriate qualifications and supervised practice experience can seek accredited status, (forms can be downloaded from this website). Once accredited your details can be placed on the national register of accredited RE/CB Therapists www.cbtregister.com
Full members have access to a yearly REBT journal; newsletters; email groups; and email contact providing information on subjects connected with REBT including a yearly Annual General Meeting and Annual Conference and CPD opportunities.
Full membership application requires a membership fee of £30.00

Anyone interested in the field of Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy can become an ASSOCIATE member of the Association, which affords that associate member, a reduced membership fee; access to newsletters; website; email groups; journal; CPD and Conference events.
Such membership does not confer recognition by the Association that the associate member is qualified in and able to offer their services as a REBT therapist. If you wish to attain such recognition you would need to complete our FULL MEMBERSHIP application forms.

Only individuals who are studying either an Advanced, Diploma or MSc course in REBT can become Student Members of AREBT for the duration of their study.
Benefits of joining AREBT whilst a student
Low membership fee; reduced fee for CPD courses and Conference attendance; access to qualified REBT supervisors; opportunity to network with fellow REBTer's by joining REBT online forum; kept abreast of developments within the field of REBT through a journal; newsletters; email contact and access to latest REBT books;

Organizations who have an interest in or provide training in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy can apply for Organizational membership.
All Organisational members must have professional indemnity and public liability insurance, plus training directors who have either AREBT Accreditation as therapists and /or are Albert Ellis approved Supervisors.
Benefits of joining as an Organisation
Opportunity to advertise REBT/CBT – CPD or Certificated training courses to members of AREBT by email; through the newsletter; or at the annual Conference.
